Kavaklıdere Wines
Kavaklıdere wines was founded in Ankara in 1929 and has been a family business for 4 generations. The company owns 645 hectares of vineyards in seven different wine-growing regions of Anatolia. The headquarters and main winery are in Ankara, but Kavaklıdere also owns “château-style” wineries that produce wineries such as Côtes d’Avanos in Cappadocia and Pendore in the Aegean.
The 86-year-old company with valuable know-how is a leader among Turkish wine producers. Every year the goal of “standard and consistently good quality” has been realized through the introduction of new technologies, the increase in production and the benefits of technical and theoretical support for the cultivation of grapes, the raw material for wine. Known as one of the best wine consultants in the world, Stephane Derenoncourt and his team advise Kavaklıdere on viticulture and winemaking.
Kavaklıdere produces wines that reflect the “terroir”. Ever since its establishment, Kavaklıdere Wines has stood by its principle of “Anatolian Wine” and has improved and introduced autochthonous Turkish varietals to the world, but also produces wine from international varietals mainly for the domestic market in Kavaklıdere Vineyards. Participation in many international competitions has brought the company almost 900 awards. Kavaklıdere Wines has a wide range of 58 different wines and exports almost 20% of its production to European, American and Far East markets.
