Paşaeli Boutique Winery
Paşaeli Boutique Winery
Paşaeli Boutique Winery is a family owned Turkish wine estate that was founded by Seyit Karagözoğlu in January 2000. They had started as a fine wine importer back in 1993. Over the years their import company had become one of the leading fine wine importers and distributors in the Turkey. Through their experience as wine importer, they knew that one day Turkish indigenous varieties would be in demand by the international wine world. Indigenous varieties were planted in the Aegean region, such as Sultaniye, Yapıncak, Çalkarası, and Karasakız, and Bordeaux varieties were planted near İzmir.

Paşaeli Wines built a boutique winery in Kemalpaşa near the port city of Izmir in the western part of Turkey. Total production is currently around 150.000 bottles a year. They make wines as little as 500 bottles to a maximum of 15.000 bottles per sku. Also, they have four vineyards of 15 hectares, one near the city of İzmir (close to the village of Kaynaklar), two more near the city of Tekirdağ (one close to the town of Şarköy and the other close to the village of Hoşköy) and one more near the city of Çanakkale (close to the village of Gedik). Kaynaklar and Hoşköy vineyards were planted by them but Şarköy vineyard has 50 years “old vines” of Yapıncak variety and Gedik vineyard has 35 years “old vines” of Karasakız variety. They hand harvest grapes.
Paşaeli Winery & Vineyards
Paşaeli Vineyards
Serez vineyard has a stony, gravely and clay red soil at an altitude of 235 meters. This altitude gives the possibility of day and night temperature differences during late August and early September, namely during the harvest period. It ensures that the grapes retain their acidity while reaching sugar and phenolic maturity. As a result, concentrated, full bodied and fruity, but at the same time balanced and elegant wines can be produced.
Şarköy, Tekirdağ
The vineyards surrounding the village generally run from 300 meters to 600 meters above sea level. And almost all of them face towards to south varying from south-east to south to south-west.
Hoşköy, Tekirdağ
Hoşköy vineyards has partly clay and limy soil with high mineral content. They are at altitudes of 140 to 160 meters, and open to the winds blowing from Sea of Marmara. Thus, grapes stay “cool” during late August and early September and retain their acidity. Therefore it produce concentrated, full bodied and fruit driven big wines, but also balanced and elegant.
Hoşköy vineyards plant in 2003, and still continue… All vineyards neighbour to each other totaling 6 hectares. Back in 2003 varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot was planted.
