Sidalan probably originates from the island of Bozcaada off Turkey’s western coast. Sidalan grape grown mainly on the Turkish Island of Bozcaada in the Aegean, western Turkey, Sidalan is also found in the Ezine and Bayramiç regions on the mainland to the east. It is rarely made as a varietal wine, with the exception of Gülerada, but Talay, for example, blend Sidalan from Ezine with VASILAKI from Bozcaada in their Assos white blend and Sidalan from Bayramiç with SEMILLON from Lapseki in their Ténedos white.
