EMİR

Emir, a juicy white grape from Cappadocia, is grown around the provinces of Nevşehir, Kırşehir, and Niğde, at an altitude of 1000-1300 meters in Turkey. This grape variety which is adapted to continental climate where the winter temperature falls to -30 c, produces a good-quality dry wine. Wine produced from Emir grapes is green-yellow or light yellow in color. It gives wines with high acidity and mineral,citrus and green apple tones. It has a unique and distinguished aroma and refreshing taste. It is the latest ripening grape variety of Turkey. It is harvested in October. With its high acidity Emir is also used to make sparkling wines as well. Emir doesn’t match with oak barrel and generally should be consumed in 1 – 2 years.
