Corinto

Corinto Nero is a dark-skinned red wine grape from the eastern Mediterranean. It is grown most widely in Greece and Turkey, but has made its way as far west as Italy, specifically northeastern Sicily and the Po Valley in Emilia-Romagna, where it is known as Tarmarina. In the modern wine world, Corinto Nero grapes are used most notably in the volcanic Aeolian Islands (the Lipari chain), as a minor blending component for Malvasia in Malvasia delle Lipari. It is restricted to a 5 percent representation in these wines, confirming its ranking among the most obscure and rarely used of Italian wine grapes.
